2027: I have faith in God that Tinubu’ll return, APC win S’East states – Umahi

Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, has expressed his faith in God that President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected in 2027, according to a recent interview on Channels Television's Sunday Politics. Umahi explained that God brought Tinubu to the presidency at a challenging time, when he faced numerous obstacles, and that he believes Tinubu will return to power due to his faith.

Umahi, who has worked closely with Tinubu, stated that he has observed the President's good heart and good intentions. He disclosed that Tinubu had not asked him to give jobs to specific individuals, despite rumors suggesting otherwise. Umahi mentioned that he distributed a paper to Tinubu, which highlighted that 95% of the projects were inherited contractors, emphasizing that one's performance is irrelevant to success.

In addition to his faith in President Tinubu, Umahi expressed hope that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure a victory in the five states in the Southeast. While he could not confirm whether these five states would be won, he expressed confidence that President Tinubu would garner a significant number of votes from the region. Umahi, however, cautioned against playing regional politics and advised that the region should focus on unity and cooperation.
