Yong Peng schoolgirl murder: I will fight for justice for Fiya, says father [WATCH]

Batu Pahat: The father of a 16-year-old girl, Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, who was discovered dead at her school, has pledged to pursue justice for his daughter. Mohd Khairool Faisal, 42, declared that he and his family will ensure their only child receives fair treatment. He emphasized that he would continue fighting, but requires support from everyone for his daughter's sake.

Upon learning about Irene Sofiya's fate, around 6pm yesterday, he was informed by his sister, Siti Nur Faeza Khyar, 45, over the phone. Khairool recounted that he last saw Fiya two weeks ago, describing her as cheerful and enjoying her studies. He expressed gratitude to everyone for their support following the incident, stating that everything related to Irene Sofiya's funeral prayers and burial proceeded smoothly.

The young girl was laid to rest at the Kampung Parit Arshad Muslim cemetery. A 16-year-old student, believed to be a classmate of Irene Sofiya, was subsequently detained for six days under Section 302 of the Penal Code for suspected murder. This detention occurred approximately 7pm yesterday in Yong Peng.
