George Town, October 4 — Two young men who became lost during a hike in Penang's Youth Park near the Botanical Gardens were found safe last evening. The Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) was alerted to the incident at 6.11pm, prompting the dispatch of eight firefighters and a fire engine from the Bagan Jermal Fire and Rescue Station.

Assistant Director of Operations John Sagun Francis informed that these responders conducted a search and rescue (SAR) operation using the location shared by the victims through WhatsApp. Three police officers provided assistance during the operation. The two men, aged 25, Muhammad Hakim Razali and Muhammad Faiz Abdul Wahab, were located and found safe at 7.42pm, approximately two kilometers away from the base of the hill.

They were promptly brought down and handed over to the police for further procedures, with the SAR operation concluding at 7.50pm.
