What Daniel Jones, Shane Steichen said about Colts QB’s terrible turnovers
The Indianapolis Colts improved to 2-2 on the young 2026 NFL season recently with a win over the Washington Commanders in London. The Indianapolis Colts secured a 30-13 victory over the Washington Commanders in London, improving their record to 2-2 in the 2026 NFL season. However, the win came with a cost as quarterback Daniel Jones turned the ball over due to a rough interception. Jones has struggled with turnovers this season, having fumbled the ball seven times in just four games.
Speaking to The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter, Jones acknowledged the need to improve his ball-carrying, stating, "They’re all different. I think you gotta understand when to take a chance, when not to, when to protect the ball… I definitely gotta do a better job taking care of the ball."
Colts head coach Shane Steichen also addressed the issue, acknowledging Jones' successes while noting areas for improvement. "I think he’s done some really good things and then some things we need to clean up. But he’s made some big-time throws... I think he’s doing a good job," Steichen said. Jones is still recovering from an Achilles injury that forced him to miss significant time during his stellar 2025 season.
With turnovers being a persistent issue, Jones aims to put those problems behind him when the Colts face the Pittsburgh Steelers in their next road game on Sunday.
