Tragedy will drive Knights to bring home NRL trophy, fans say
Thousands of Knights supporters descend on Stadium Australia as they eagerly await their team's battle against the Sydney Roosters for NRL grand final glory.
Tragedy has struck Newcastle, leaving 10 people injured after a car collided with Knights supporters. The team's fans, decked out in red, blue, and white, have gathered at Stadium Australia in anticipation of their team's grand final appearance against the Sydney Roosters, who have not won the NRL trophy in 25 years. Last year, the Knights claimed the wooden spoon.
The incident, which occurred at a roundabout on Newcastle Link Road, has left six people hospitalized, including a five-year-old girl who is now in stable condition. The tragedy and the team's first grand final appearance in decades have united supporters, who are confident of a Newcastle victory. The match is expected to be a white wash, symbolizing the team's determination to bring the trophy home.
Newcastle Mayor Gavin Morris praised the team's resilience and urged them to give their best in the upcoming game.
