Today is not a day of victory but a day of responsibility and great unity – John Boadu

John Boadu, the newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), addressed the party’s newly appointed leadership on the day of his election at the National Delegates Conference in Kumasi. Mr Boadu urged the new leadership to approach their mandate with a profound sense of responsibility, humility, and unity. He emphasized that the party’s victory should not be seen merely as a personal or factional triumph, but rather as a collective responsibility to strengthen the NPP.

“Today is not a day of victory but a day of responsibility and great unity,” Mr Boadu stated, urging the party to maintain focus on its broader objectives and avoid allowing the election outcome to create divisions within its ranks. The newly elected executives, including a General Secretary, three Vice Chairmen, and other national leaders, were tasked with coordinating the party’s structures at national, regional, and constituency levels.

Mr Boadu reminded the new leadership that their positions were a reflection of the expectations from party members and supporters nationwide. He called for a leadership style that prioritizes the party’s interests over individual ambitions, fostering cooperation among members. Additionally, Mr Boadu highlighted the critical role of unity in the party’s progress beyond the internal elections, stressing that the collective efforts of members, especially at the grassroots level, would be essential for strengthening the NPP’s structures and building a more cohesive organization.
