SC showcases Qatar’s volunteering legacy at Asian Games 2026

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) highlighted the enduring impact of Qatar's volunteer program at Bayt Qatar, an interactive exhibition preceding the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Former volunteers, who contributed to events such as FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the Qatar Football Season 2025, participated in the showcase.

Haya al-Noaimi, SC Event Workforce & Volunteers Executive Director, emphasized the significance of volunteering in Qatar, stating that the program transcends individual events, fostering a culture of dedication and passion. Qatari volunteer Ali al-Khater, an oil and gas professional, shared how his experience volunteering at the 2022 World Cup united different cultures to achieve a common goal.

Lolwa Bu Karbal, a Qatari architecture student, echoed the sentiment that volunteering at large-scale events like the World Cup and Asian Games fosters cultural exchange and promotes diversity. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, over 20,000 volunteers supported the tournament, and since then, Qatar has hosted various major events, building upon the legacy of volunteerism and community spirit that continues to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds.

In 2025, a record-breaking football season saw 4,000 volunteers support the delivery of three FIFA finals in rapid succession.
