The Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, are set to face Russia in an international friendly match, with head coach Eric Chelle inviting Rostov midfielder Ibraheem Mahfus Ajasa to join their squad. Ajasa, who joined Russian club Rostov last year, is expected to provide an additional option in midfield for the Nigerian team.
This development comes after captain Wilfred Ndidi had to withdraw from the friendly due to injury. The Super Eagles recently suffered a 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, highlighting the need for a strong performance in their upcoming match against Russia.
