A 16-year-old male juvenile faced questioning for six consecutive days, aiding investigations into the murder of a female student who was found unconscious and covered in blood at a school in Yong Peng, Johor, yesterday. Johor Police Chief Ab Rahaman Arsad stated that the suspect was held for approximately seven nights around Yong Peng, just an hour after authorities received information about the incident. Police were alerted around 5:50 pm after the victim was discovered in a dazed state and with blood on her.

The victim suffered injuries to her head and body before her death was confirmed at the scene. A post-mortem examination was conducted at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital, Batu Pahat, today. Ab Rahaman informed that the suspect was detained along with members of the Johor State Forensic Investigation Department and the Batu Pahat District Forensic Investigation Department.

He added that a smartphone, a pair of clothing, and a pair of scissors were also stolen. Later, the suspect was brought to Batu Pahat Magistrate Court for questioning. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which prescribes a death sentence or a mandatory minimum of 30 years to a maximum of 40 years in prison, and a fine of at least 12 years if not sentenced to death.

Ab Rahaman stated that the motive and cause of the incident are still under investigation, and the public is asked not to speculate or make comments that could interfere with the investigation. The public with relevant information about the incident can contact Johor Police via phone number 019-2792095 or Batu Pahat Police Station Counter (07-2212999).
