Reject politicians who ignore your calls, messages, Ogun monarch urges residents

An Ogun monarch, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has urged residents to reject politicians who fail to respond to their calls and messages. According to the Daily Post Nigeria, he warned that public office holders who deliberately create a communication gap with the people do not deserve votes.

The monarch, who is the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, stated that failure to communicate destroys public trust, breeds misinformation, and paralyses governance. He listed several dangers of keeping the electorate incommunicado, including the breakdown of trust and the spread of fake news.

Oba Akinyemi emphasized that responding to calls and messages is a key responsibility of any public office holder, and those who make themselves incommunicado do not deserve the votes of the people.
