The PTI is set to begin its march today after talks between the federal government and the opposition failed to yield any encouraging results to defuse the current political crisis in the country. PTI set to begin its protest march from KP's Lakki Marwat today

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is preparing to commence its protest march from Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) today. This decision comes after discussions between the federal government and the opposition failed to resolve the ongoing political crisis. The primary objective of the march is to demand the release of the party's jailed founder and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan.

The PTI had initially planned to launch its long march to Islamabad on September 27 to protest against what it termed as the "illegal imprisonment" of Khan. However, due to security concerns, the march was postponed to October 4, today. Federal ministers have cautioned that they may implement governor's rule or declare emergency in KP if the situation escalates. Meanwhile, the PTI has vowed to take significant action if such a move is made.

On Sunday, the PTI shared a detailed plan for the march via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's social media account. Supporters from various districts, including Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, and Bannu, will join the procession from Lakki Marwat's Gandi Chowk on October 4. The caravan will rest near Karak before proceeding to Kohat, where it will resume its journey on October 6.

Additional supporters from Kohat, Hangu, Kurram, and Orakzai will join the caravan, moving towards Peshawar. The final segment of the march to Islamabad will commence from Budh Bair in Peshawar on October 7.

The KP CM also mentioned that people from all constituencies of Peshawar will join the march at Kohat Road Bridge and the Motorway Toll Plaza, with the journey concluding in Charsadda Interchange. The march aims to gather the "entire people of KP" at Khairabad on October 8, where the next phase of the plan will be announced.
