PRN Melaka: Rundingan pakatan politik BN hampir dimuktamad, kata Zahid

Zahid Hamidi, who also serves as the President of Umno, has stated that the discussions with a coalition for PRN Melaka are nearly complete, with 95% of the process already finished. Speaking in Shah Alam, the Barisan Nasional (BN) leader said that the coalition will be announced following the State Election Commission (SPR) after it convenes on October 7th to determine the date for the PRN election in Melaka.

Zahid revealed that he has held talks with the relevant parties, which he believes are primarily PAS, apart from Pakatan Harapan (PH). He mentioned that the two parties have engaged in discussions, and that they will wait for the SPR announcement on October 7th before announcing the finalized coalition or any negotiations to move forward with PRN Melaka.

However, Zahid did not disclose the specific coalition that BN is working on, except to say that he will meet separately with two separate coalition talks in Kuala Lumpur. Recently, PAS' Deputy President, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, said that talks between PAS and Umno for PRN Melaka have reached nearly 90%. When asked if BN is willing to negotiate with Pakatan Harapan (PH) for PRN Melaka, Zahid said that the party is open to such attempts.

Meanwhile, discussing the issue of BN's symbol being used by PAS, Zahid said that the decision has not been made yet but it is open if PAS wants to use their own symbol.
