‘Presidency not soup kitchen for destitutes like Amaechi’- APC slams ADC VP candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has harshly criticized Rotimi Amaechi, the Vice Presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), labeling him as a "loafer" who has struggled to remain productive outside of public office. A statement released by the APC on Sunday highlighted Amaechi's financial troubles, particularly his inability to afford medications for his late mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.

The party extended condolences for Amaechi's mother's passing, but emphasized their wish for him to find a job that would provide him and his family with adequate income. Amaechi, who has previously served as a two-term Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, a two-term Governor, a two-term Minister of Transportation, and a presidential aspirant, is now seeking the ADC nomination for the 2027 general elections.

The statement continued, "Rotimi Amaechi's uncanny confessions must not be missed. First, he howled that he had become so broke and hungry that his wife was now feeding him. Now, he has stated that his inability to afford medications killed his mother at 89." The APC argued that Amaechi's recent remarks about his financial struggles were indicative of a deeper issue, noting that his inability to support himself and his family suggests a lack of productivity and responsibility.

The statement concluded by stating, "The presidency is not a soup kitchen and will not be a soup kitchen for Rotimi Amaechi."
