Former Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has criticized Portugal coach Jorge Jesus over his handling of the Cristiano Ronaldo situation. Vidal, speaking on a live stream, called Jesus 'shame and very bad,' arguing that the coach should have protected Ronaldo. Ronaldo recently departed from the Portugal national team camp during the UEFA Nations League.
The 41-year-old hinted that he would reveal the reason for his exit in the near future. Vidal lamented, "It's a real shame. I think the coach is very bad." He emphasized that Ronaldo, who gave his utmost for Portugal and helped elevate the team to one of the world's best, deserved better treatment. Vidal stated, "You have to take care of Cristiano, protect him, a player who gave everything to Portugal, who placed the country as one of the best teams in the world."
He added, "A player like that can't leave like that. Cristiano has the right to do whatever he wants. What made football and the Portuguese national team was to take them to another level."
