Ogun: So-Safe Corps arrests man for harboring, raping missing 22-year-old lady

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, apprehended a 29-year-old man, Salaudeen Toheeb, on Sunday for allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman named Boluwatife. The missing woman hails from Owode-Yewa and was discovered in the custody of the suspect at Olohunda, Ota. Commander Soji Ganzallo announced the arrest following intelligence received about the suspect seen with the missing girl.

Upon reaching the spot, the corps officers arrested Toheeb. During questioning, the suspect confessed to luring the girl, who was distressed and seeking help, while riding his motorcycle on Thursday evening. He took her to his house, gave her food, and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her, but she resisted. Later, he allegedly forced himself on her early Friday morning.

The victim's father demanded that the case be transferred to the police for further investigation, stating that his daughter had left home with five mobile phones and approximately N17,000 cash. The So-Safe Corps handed over both the suspect and victim to the Owode-Yewa Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution.

The Corps emphasized their commitment to safeguarding lives and property and urged the public to report cases of missing persons, suspected abuse, sexual offenses, and other criminal activities to the relevant authorities.
