Portugal's Bruno Fernandes has called for Cristiano Ronaldo to be respected no matter what, speaking ahead of Portugal's upcoming UEFA Nations League match against Norway. Earlier this week, Ronaldo left the national team camp following a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus. Fans demonstrated their support for Jesus during a 4-2 victory over Denmark, many of them expressing discontent with Ronaldo's departure.
Fernandes emphasized that the team is not involved in the dispute, but believes that the country should remain united and not take sides. He stated that it's important to respect and accept all perspectives while acknowledging Ronaldo's status as the greatest icon of the national team, football in Portugal, and worldwide. Fernandes concluded by reiterating that Ronaldo deserves the respect of every Portuguese person, regardless of differing opinions.
