Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku has paid a significant compliment to Real Madrid, calling the Santiago Bernabeu his favorite stadium and naming them as the best opponent he has faced in his career. Doku made these remarks during an interview with Sports Direct, where he also highlighted Madrid's strong presence in European football.
Despite Manchester City's recent struggles, Doku's comments reflect the intense rivalry between the two clubs, particularly in the Champions League. Since joining Manchester City in 2023, Doku has faced Madrid seven times in European competitions, with Madrid emerging victorious four times and drawing two matches, while City won once.
The renovated Bernabeu, known for its historical significance and dramatic shifts in matches, has garnered respect from top European players, including Doku. Despite Madrid's lack of success in recent Champions League campaigns, the club remains determined to reclaim the trophy at their home ground.
