Nisar Ahmad and his wife, Tasleem Akhtar, had an argument over a family matter, during which Nisar poured petrol on Tasleem before setting her alight. The victim sustained critical burns across her entire body. She was immediately taken to Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where doctors subsequently referred her to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital for further treatment. Police have apprehended Nisar Ahmad as the suspect in this horrifying act.

In a separate incident, three individuals lost their lives and another sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Khanewal. According to Rescue 1122, all those affected were on the same motorcycle traveling on the National Highway close to Niazi Chowk when a speeding bus collided with their bike. As a result of the collision, Muhammad Yousaf (34) and Mudassar Hussain (30) from Rajanpur, and Ilyas Akram (35) from Dera Ghazi Khan tragically died at the scene.
