Land dispute: Peter Obi urges communities to embrace peace

Former Anambra State Governor and presidential hopeful Peter Obi has called upon the people of Umuoba-Anam and Aguleri, two communities in Anambra East Local Government Area, to cease hostilities and embrace peace. Obi expressed his concern over recent reports of renewed conflicts between the two communities, which he believes only serve to worsen the hardships already faced by residents.

He urged community leaders to prioritize dialogue and reconciliation, warning that violence would only exacerbate the suffering of families and destroy livelihoods. Obi emphasized that no grievance is worth the loss of lives, destruction of homes and livelihoods, or the pain inflicted on families. He urged both sides to choose dialogue over violence, reconciliation over revenge, and peace over destruction, pledging to pray for wisdom for their leaders and peace for Umuoba-Anam and Aguleri.
