Brazil's first-round election results will begin counting at 5 p.m. Brasília time on Sunday, 4 October 2026. The process is accessible to anyone worldwide through the court's Resultados portal (resultados.tse.jus.br) or the updated Resultados app for Android and iOS. The presidential candidate must secure more than half of the valid votes to win outright, with blank and null ballots excluded.
If no candidate achieves this threshold, the top two contenders will face off in a runoff on Sunday, 25 October 2026, following the same voting hours. Markets remain closed on election day, resuming trading on Monday, 5 October 2026. Brazilian citizens are the only eligible voters; foreign residents are not affected. Expect crowds near polling locations until 5 p.m. daily, and verify local rules in your city.
The TSE remains the sole official source for results until the official proclamation of the election outcome.
