AS Roma is closing in on securing Real Madrid forward Endrick for a January loan deal, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Serie A club is confident in their pursuit of the Brazilian youngster, who is a priority target for sporting director D'Amico. Endrick, 20, would provide regular first-team football for Roma after struggling for opportunities at Real Madrid.
He has only played four minutes for his current club this season and could leave on loan, similar to his situation last year. Endrick's performances at Lyon in the second half of the season, where he scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 21 appearances, caught the attention of several clubs, including Milan. Milan is also making inquiries about Endrick, but Roma appears to be the player's preferred destination.
Roma believes Endrick can add quality and pace to their frontline and give him the chance to rediscover his best form. The Italian club is currently leading the Serie A standings after five games and could use Endrick's contributions to secure their first Scudetto since 2001.
