2027: Oredo APC Reps Candidate, Iyamu, Seeks Oba of Benin’s Blessings

As political parties and candidates gear up for the 2027 general election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) hopeful for Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon. Paddy Iyamu, has sought the blessings and prayers of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II. Iyamu, accompanied by party leaders and supporters, visited the monarch's palace in Benin City to formally announce his intention to represent the people of Oredo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

The meeting provided a unique glimpse into the traditional values of the Benin Kingdom, with the monarch warmly receiving Iyamu and offering prayers and blessings for the candidate. Oba Ewuare II commended Iyamu for his humility and respect for the customs of the kingdom, emphasizing that political authority ultimately comes from God and the people.

Iyamu expressed gratitude to the Oba for his royal reception and blessings, stating that the visit was a significant step in his political journey. The politician remarked, "I am the candidate for Oredo Federal Constituency, and it is only wise that before you go out to start dancing, you first come to the house of your father to seek his blessing."

With political activities increasing as the 2027 general election approaches, the candidate's visit to the monarch's palace highlights the importance of traditional institutions in the electoral process.
