10 ER Actors We'd Love To See Guest Star On The Pitt

The Pitt, a new medical drama, has the potential to welcome numerous actors from ER, the influential medical drama that aired for two decades. Among the many familiar faces that have graced both ER and The Pitt, Noah Wyle stands out as a natural choice for a guest appearance. Wyle's dynamic with Kellie Martin, who played Lucy Knight, provided a poignant moment in ER's history.

While Martin acknowledged their professional relationship was rewarding, Wyle admitted he was initially not welcoming. Reuniting Wyle and Martin on The Pitt could offer an intriguing exploration of their contrasting dynamics. Another compelling choice would be bringing back David Krumholtz, who portrayed Paul Sobriki, a patient responsible for Carter and Lucy's harrowing attack in Season 6.

Krumholtz's ability to create a terrifyingly realistic portrayal of the attack, coupled with Wyle's experience working with him, make this pairing an exciting prospect. Although Maura Tierney's Abby Lockhart and Noah Wyle's Carter were not meant to be, their on-screen friendship had a captivating chemistry. Reuniting the two could reignite that spark and provide an entertaining dynamic on The Pitt, should the show revisit Carter's early career.

Additionally, Eriq La Salle's Dr. Peter Benton, who played a formative role in Carter's life, could make a return as Dr. Montgomery Adamson, a character previously only seen in flashbacks. Recasting La Salle as Benton would allow Noah Wyle to portray the character again, shaping Carter's trajectory in a new capacity. Despite their contentious relationship on ER, Thandiwe Newton and Noah Wyle's on-screen romance exuded undeniable chemistry.

Their complicated relationship, marked by heartbreak, separation, and estrangement, provided a rich foundation for future exploration on The Pitt. With Newton and Wyle's chemistry intact, their dynamic as Kem and Carter on The Pitt could offer an intriguing and emotionally charged narrative. Finally, Sally Field's Maggie, Abby's estranged mother, brought an emotionally charged dynamic to ER that resonated with fans.

Field's Emmy-winning performance and subsequent appearances on The Pitt offer the opportunity to explore an entirely new relationship with Wyle as Carter. Lastly, Mary McDonnell's portrayal of Carter's emotionally distant mother, Eleanor, introduced a complicated web of familial ties. McDonnell's return as Robby's estranged mother on The Pitt would allow for an exploration of a different, potentially more challenging dynamic, shedding light on Carter's upbringing and the impact of his childhood on his adult life.
