According to Southeast Brigade General Operations Force Commander Datuk Ahmad Radzi Hussain, the trio had recently returned from an entertainment trip in Sungai Golok.
The arrest took place at the Abe Yie illegal jetty around 7.30pm. The individuals admitted to crossing the Golok River by boat and visiting the entertainment centre in Sungai Golok town. They also confessed to using drugs during their time at the entertainment centre, with urine tests confirming methamphetamine use in the two women.
The 32-year-old man tested negative for drugs. All three were from Kelantan. Radzi stated that their arrest was under Section 5(2) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for entering Malaysia through an unauthorised route. The case has been transferred to the Pasir Mas police station for further investigation.
