Ronaldo is Portugal’s greatest icon, says Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes, a midfielder for both Manchester United and the Portugal national team, has declared Cristiano Ronaldo as Portugal's greatest icon. In a recent statement, Fernandes expressed his admiration for Ronaldo, affirming that the legendary forward will "always remain the greatest icon of our national team and our country."

The midfielder addressed speculation of divisions within the Portuguese squad, emphasizing the team's unity, stating, "Our national team is united, not divided." Fernandes further emphasized that any issues concerning the team should be handled internally, aiming for a positive resolution for all parties involved. This support for Ronaldo underscores the enduring influence and respect he continues to hold within Portuguese football and the country's broader identity.

Portugal's coach, Jorge Jesus, echoed Fernandes' sentiments, describing Ronaldo as a symbol of the national team and Portugal, though he did not elaborate further at the time.
