Former Nigerian footballers have quietly become engineers, professors, lawyers, corporate executives, auditors, authors, broadcasters, managers and administrators of people and resources. Many of these players, whose careers were built away from Nigeria, have done so from different fields but with the same requirement: results. This project, undertaken voluntarily in the reporter's personal time, examines publicly available professional, academic, institutional and football records to assess the documented records of former Nigerian international players.

The standard is the recorded evidence, which must carry the name of the player. The project is not a competition with lawyers, accountants, businesspeople, politicians, academics or career administrators, but a matter of looking at the record. Professional experience creates a frame of reference for managing people, teaching delegation and succession, tracking profit and loss, understanding controls, systems and risk, and developing initiative.

These are disciplines learned through responsibility. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has a well-defined structure, with an Executive Committee, Secretariat, standing committees, league structures and departmental responsibilities. The report identifies control points, gaps, strengths and weaknesses in the existing organization and recommends what should be preserved, redesigned or strengthened.
