Neville football defeats West Monroe in second home shutout of season
Neville wins its fourth game in a row with its shutout victory against West Monroe at Mickey McCarty Field.
Neville football secured a second home shutout of the season, defeating West Monroe 10-0 on Friday, Oct. 2. Junior Jarvis Blackston's standout performance, combined with a defensive unit excelling at takeaways, propelled Neville to victory. Sophomore C.J. Goins and junior Myles Reichardt each intercepted West Monroe's Tre King, with Goins' late-game interception sealing the win.
Senior quarterback Parker Robinson praised his teammates for their contributions, noting C.J.'s versatility and Myles' defensive prowess. Blackston, who rushed for 101 yards and scored the lone touchdown, expressed pride in his team's resilience. Despite West Monroe's key plays, including Luke Vallery's 81 receiving yards, Neville's defense prevented the Rebels from scoring.
District 2-5A play begins next week, and the Tigers look forward to new competitions in their new district, including West Ouachita, Wossman, and Tioga.
