The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced the 2027 academic calendar for schools in Malaysia, with the new session starting on 4 January 2027. Schools in Group A states, which include Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, will have their academic term run from 4 January to 2 December 2027, while schools in Group B states, comprising the majority of states in Malaysia, will follow a similar schedule from 4 January to 3 December 2027.
The MOE has also coordinated festive holiday dates across the 2027 school year for major celebrations, including Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya Aidiladha, Kaamatan Festival, Hari Gawai Dayak, Wesak Day, and Christmas. Schools are required to comply with the additional holiday allocations provided by the MOE for these celebrations, and these additional holidays do not need to be replaced.
