MacArthur overcomes injury with smothering defense in win over South San
Brahmas quarterback Maximus Cavazos left the game with an undisclosed injury, but a punishing run game and a stout defense was too much for the Bobcats.
MacArthur Carson Lacott intercepted a pass in the second half against South San, returning it for a touchdown during Friday's October 2, 2026 game at South San Stadium. Defeating South San 31-6, MacArthur outplayed the team despite losing their starting quarterback to injury. Senior Matthew Rodriguez contributed 130 rushing yards and a defensive effort that stifled South San's offense, leading to a district win for the Brahmas.
Coach Jordon Ricker praised the team's ability to handle adversity and remain focused on the task of winning upcoming games.
