Lagos offers N30m grants to 10 young entrepreneurs

The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has allocated N30 million in grants to 10 young entrepreneurs participating in the 2026 Amplifier Business Clinic. This initiative, organized in collaboration with Pelse Consulting, aims to empower young people in Lagos by providing them with the necessary knowledge, support, and financial assistance to transform their skills and hobbies into sustainable businesses.

Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, the ministry's Permanent Secretary, emphasized that this increased grant amount represents an improvement from the previous year's N20 million grant for eight beneficiaries. The program's mentors will guide the recipients in deploying the funds to grow their businesses, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive support beyond just financial assistance.

The Amplifier Business Clinic Pitch Day 2026, held on Saturday, saw 250 participants proceed to the virtual training stage, with the final selection based on various assessments, including business case presentations and mock pitches. Beneficiaries will receive mentorship from professionals in their respective fields and will benefit from periodic monitoring and evaluation by Pelse Consulting to ensure the long-term success of the businesses.

Notable participants, such as Kumoluyi Oyindamola Abigail and Fagbemi Joshua Oluwabori, highlighted the program's impact on their respective businesses, which range from leather bags and cosmetics to printing and computer training services.
