Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has announced his withdrawal from the Shanghai Masters due to a lingering knee injury. The world number one expressed his disappointment on Instagram, stating that he had hoped to compete at the event. Sinner had previously won the Shanghai Masters in 2024, defeating Novak Djokovic in the final.
The injury has kept him out of action since his Wimbledon victory in July. Despite his absence, Sinner expressed gratitude for the support he has received and looked forward to returning to the court next year. The Shanghai Masters is scheduled to take place from October 7-18.
