I’ve spent my life photographing the world’s greatest guitarists – and it all started with a Polaroid of Jimmy Page!

Scarlet Page, a renowned music photographer, has spent her life capturing iconic guitarists through her lens. Her journey began in 1976 when she took her first photograph, a Polaroid of her parents - Jimmy Page and Charlotte Martin. This early picture appeared on-screen during a BBC TV interview in 2015, where Page discussed her two-year project RESONATORS, featuring photographs of world-class guitarists such as Steve Jones, Brian May, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Noel Gallagher, Mark Knopfler, Hank Marvin, Paul McCartney, Chrissie Hynde, and many others.

From a young age, Page showed a keen interest in photography. She pursued a foundation course and later obtained a degree at the Polytechnic of Central London, where she built a portfolio with the help of her tutor. To gain experience, Page initially assisted a news photographer before receiving a fortunate opportunity to work with respected music photographer Ross Halfin. This position lasted for over a year and marked the beginning of her successful career in music photography.

Page's first published image was of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell for Raw magazine, which served as her 'in' with various music magazines. Her dedication to the art form earned her commissions for iconic album artwork, tour documentation, and photographs of numerous renowned musicians. Her latest project, an exhibition titled 'Gibson Garage,' runs from September 2026 to February 2027 and showcases over 30 famous guitarists wielding their Gibson axes.

Despite her success, Page remains a devoted Nikon user. She has been using Nikon cameras for over 30 years, starting with her Nikon FM2, and continues to shoot with the Nikon Z8 and Z9 models. With her exceptional skill and passion for music photography, Scarlet Page has carved out a highly successful career, capturing the essence of some of the most influential guitarists in the industry.
