India faced a 4-0 defeat to five-time world champions Brazil in a friendly match at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. Chelsea’s Estevao opened the scoring for Brazil in the 28th minute, followed by Pedro doubling the lead shortly before halftime. Samuel Lino scored two more goals after the break, completing a comfortable victory for the visitors.
Brazil showed dominance after India made a lively start, with Estevao breaking the deadlock and Pedro adding a second before halftime. Samuel Lino's two goals sealed the win, with his final goal coming in the closing stages to complete a 4-0 triumph. The loss is a stark contrast to India's 1-1 draw with Panama a week earlier in Bengaluru.
The Blue Tigers next face Uruguay in Kolkata on October 6, with India aiming to finish the FIFA International Window strongly after a tough test from the world champions.
