FG to select 14 teachers for President’s Award

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that 14 teachers will be selected digitally for the 2026 President’s Teachers’ and Schools Excellence Awards. This move is aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and documentation in the recognition of outstanding teachers. The decision to digitize the selection process was disclosed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Boriowo Folasade, in a statement.

The move is expected to strengthen the integrity of the process by ensuring reliable records for future reference, while promoting greater transparency, accountability, and fairness in the selection of awardees. The theme of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day celebration is "Transforming the Teaching Profession for Africa’s Future," and the awards program will focus on innovation, mobility, artificial intelligence, inclusion, and professional excellence.
