Ex-NFL QB gives Alabama football’s Keelon Russell his flowers after dominant performance vs. Mississippi State

Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel praised Alabama's Keelon Russell after the star freshman quarterback's dominant performance against Mississippi State, which resulted in a 56-23 victory for the Crimson Tide. Daniel, speaking on Russell's recent form, described him as "playing about as good as anyone in the entire country right now" and highlighted the freshman's remarkable nine touchdowns in the last two weeks.

Russell completed 16 of 22 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding a rushing score to his impressive display. The Alabama defense also played a crucial role, with Alabama safety forcing two interceptions from Mississippi State's Kamario Taylor. Russell's preparedness for the starting role is evident, as he credits former NFL quarterback Ty Simpson, now with the Los Angeles Rams, for his preparation.

Alabama's squad is on a 5-0 record, currently leading the SEC along with the Texas Longhorns. Russell's accomplishments so far suggest that he is living up to the enormous expectations placed on him during his high school career, and he is poised to attract significant attention from the college football community in the near future.
