Celtic Book Launch – ‘Green, White and Silverware’ by Matthew Marr

Celtic fans are always eager to learn more about the club's history, particularly its notable accomplishments. In his new book, 'Green, White and Silverware' by Matthew Marr, published on October 3, 2026, readers will gain insights into various triumphs that have shaped Celtic's journey over the years. The first installment of a two-part series, the book covers the period from 1889 to 1902.

This book aims to fill in gaps by presenting numerous anecdotes, such as the unexplained disappearance of the club's first trophy or the peculiar case of a prize that exclusively recognizes Rangers as winners. It also delves into the time when the Bhoys were recognized as 'world champions' and the impact of war and Celtic Park renovations on a different type of league title.

Matthew Marr, the author and Celtic researcher, has been a devoted fan since the 1980s and has been a season ticket holder since 1992. His primary interest lies in the club's history, especially during the early years. Prior to this publication, Marr released a book in 2023 detailing the Bhoys' first league title, which was available on Celtic Star Books.

For Celtic supporters eager to know more about their club's history, 'Green, White and Silverware' fills many of these gaps, providing a comprehensive picture of the early successes of the club. The book is highly recommended and can be purchased at Celtic Superstores and online in hardback, paperback or Kindle formats.
