Are the Oklahoma Sooners playing today?
Are the Oklahoma Sooners playing in Week 5 of the 2026 college football season.
The Oklahoma Sooners are not playing on the day of this report. They are in the midst of a bye week, which is a scheduled break in the college football schedule. Following their bye, the Sooners have a crucial game lined up against their Red River rivals, the Texas Longhorns, in Dallas. This matchup is significant as it could impact Oklahoma's standing in the College Football Playoff.
The team has been working on improving their offense, particularly with the development of quarterback John Mateer. However, Mateer has struggled against strong defenses in recent games. Despite these challenges, head coach Brent Venables and his staff remain confident that Mateer will perform up to expectations in the upcoming game.
The Sooners have several other notable games ahead, including matchups against Michigan, Georgia, and Ole Miss, among others.
