Alabama State vs Bethune-Cookman live updates, highlights, analysis
Alabama State football plays Bethune-Cookman in a pivotal SWAC showdown. Follow live updates and highlights from Alabama State's Week 5 game.
Alabama State football entered the SWAC conference title race with a victory over Mississippi Valley State in their Week 4 opener. Freshman Aaron Frye made his debut as the starting quarterback, replacing the injured Andrew Body. This marked Frye's first career start and the first time an Alabama State quarterback scored over one touchdown in a game this season.
Despite having an offense ranked among the bottom in the SWAC, the Hornets managed to score more than 30 points for the third time this season against MSVU. Andrew Body suffered a non-throwing wrist injury that has been casted, with no timetable for his return to the field at the moment. Alabama State, predicted as the preseason SWAC favorites, will rely on Frye to continue the team's strong start.
