2027: Tinubu’s presidency is choice of death – Amaechi

Rotimi Amaechi, the presidential running mate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has warned that voting for President Bola Tinubu will lead to a choice of death for Nigerians. Amaechi, who is also a former governor of Rivers State, made these remarks in a recent interview on Channels Television's Politics Today. He urged Nigerians to vote for the ADC's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who he believes represents life.

Amaechi highlighted the mounting economic challenges facing the country, citing examples such as his wife's staff demanding salary increases and the skyrocketing cost of living. He noted that transport fares have increased significantly, with some workers now paying more than half of their salaries just for commuting. Similarly, house rents have skyrocketed, with some individuals facing rent hikes of up to 100 percent.

Amaechi argued that the government's decision to increase salaries while imposing heavy taxes leaves Nigerians with little money in their pockets. He questioned how people can afford basic necessities like drugs when taxes consume over 60 to 70 percent of their earnings. Amaechi concluded by stating that the only choice left for Nigerians is to choose life, represented by Atiku Abubakar, over the ominous prospect of Tinubu's presidency.
