Walking now difficult for me, says Pete Edochie

Veteran Nigerian film star Pete Edochie has revealed that he is currently finding it challenging to walk and has been experiencing swelling in various parts of his body. The actor made this disclosure while visiting ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra, Ghana. In a video that has gone viral, Edochie prayed for Armah’s recovery and provided financial assistance for his medical care.

Despite his own physical difficulties, Edochie remains hopeful about his own recovery. "Sitting down here, I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover," he said. Edochie also expressed concern about being a burden to those around him, stating that he had asked God to take his life when the time comes, rather than leave others to care for him.

"I just keep asking God, ‘You are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me, don’t let me bother the people who are around me. Just take me,’” he added. The visit to Armah, who has been suffering from an illness for nearly 11 years, was emotional for Edochie, who expressed his belief that Armah would recover one day.

Armah’s wife, Stella Amina Armah, revealed that his health issues started while he was working in the United States, including high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels. Armah is currently receiving physiotherapy and daily massages as part of his treatment regimen. Edochie’s emotional visit highlights his concern for his Ghanaian colleague and his ongoing support for his well-being.
