On Friday, Sangeetha Sornalingam, wife of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, made a rare public appearance at Chennai's Kamala Cinemas. Accompanied by their daughter Divya Saasha, Sangeetha arrived to watch her son Jason Sanjay's directorial debut, 'Sigma'. This visit occurred nearly two months after Sangeetha withdrew her divorce petition against Vijay, which she had filed in February 2026.
Videos from outside the theater showed the family entering the venue for an early screening of the film, which premiered on October 2. Jason, who previously stated that his father would not be involved in the promotional campaign for 'Sigma', was also seen at the theater with his mother and sister. Jason expressed his hope that his father, now serving as Chief Minister, would be proud of his directorial debut.
Sangeetha's divorce petition had initially alleged emotional neglect and mental cruelty from Vijay, but she subsequently withdrew the petition on August 7, allowing her to file a new one if needed.
