UNL: We took step forward in attack – Portugal star hails Jesus after Ronaldo leaves

Portuguese midfielder Vitinha has praised head coach Jorge Jesus for advancing the team's attacking play following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal star made the statement after the national team secured a 4-2 victory over Denmark in a UEFA Nations League match on Thursday. Ronaldo did not take part in the game after he shockingly withdrew from the national team, reportedly due to dissatisfaction with limited playing time under Jesus.

When questioned about the circumstances surrounding Ronaldo's absence, Vitinha shifted the focus to his teammates and Jesus' strategic approach. He stated through TVI Noticias, "It's all thanks to the manager's work. The truth is, we played an excellent game, and there is no hiding that. "He emphasized that it was the best performance the team had thus far and acknowledged their growth, attributing it to the continuous work with Jesus.

Vitinha concluded by congratulating the entire team, saying, "Today, we took a step forward in the attack. We tried to focus on the game, and I think that is what we did. We responded incredibly. Congratulations to the whole group."
