Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Bayern Women are set to face off in a crucial top-of-the-table match in Germany's Bundesliga on Saturday at the Stadion am Brentanobad. The German Unity Day fixture sees the reigning champions attempt to maintain their unbeaten streak against their closest rivals, who currently sit second in the table with 13 points.
FC Bayern Women have shown a strong record against Frankfurt in recent encounters, maintaining a 12-match unbeaten run since October 2021, with nine wins and three draws. However, this familiar battle has often been intense and tense, including a 1-1 draw in the 2024 semi-final and a 4-1 victory in extra time in the 2025 semi-final.
Despite their recent successes, Frankfurt remains a formidable opponent. Coach José Barcala acknowledges the challenge, noting the aggressive transitions and dangerous players of the Bayern squad. The hosts have also been impressive, securing four wins and one draw in their first five matches, including a notable comeback against promoted 1. FSV Mainz 05.
FC Bayern Women's head coach Giulia Gwinn remains confident ahead of the match, emphasizing the importance of staying precise, compact, and focused. She and her teammates are looking forward to the challenge, aiming to add another victory to their impressive league record before the international break.
