The Dance Scene’s Favorite Equine HorsegiirL on Healing & Identity: ‘Because I’m a Horse, People Can Project What They Want Onto Me’

HorsegiirL, a German producer making waves in the dance scene with her unique persona as a stylized equine named Stella Stallion, is set to open for Robyn at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on October 2. Known for her June release, Nature Is Healing, the artist has been carving out a sound that blends hyperpop, pop, and hardcore dance music.

In an interview, horsegiirL speaks about her grounded calm demeanor, even in moments of nervousness, and her celestial and sincere yet often unhinged approach to her music. She explains how her album Nature Is Healing helped establish her as a key figure in the current dance and pop landscape, with her fantastical world building and stylized equine persona serving as a fully-realized artistic universe.

Reflecting on her recent growth, horsegiirL credits playing Coachella in 2025 as a major shift that led to her biggest U.S. audience to date. Her North American headlining tour, which began on September 19 in Denver, continues through mid-November before heading to Europe. During this tour, horsegiirL emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle on the road, including exercise, avoiding alcohol, and getting up to 10 hours of sleep each night.

The upcoming October 30 release of her new EP, Hardcore Healing, will further showcase her diverse musical influences, featuring collaborations with Parisian gabber star aamourocean, frequent PinkPantheress collaborator Count Baldor, and her own frequent collaborators Free Jimi and Luvhunter. The lead single "c*ntry girl rock" fuses hardcore and country elements into a catchy, strange, and quintessentially horsegiirL track.
