Taylor Swift Earns U.K. Chart Double as ‘Patient Zero’ & ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Hit No. 1
She is the only artist so far to boast three separate U.K. No. 1 singles in 2026.
Taylor Swift has achieved a double chart-topper in the U.K., with her deluxe edition of The Life of a Showgirl and the hit single "Patient Zero" both claiming the No. 1 position. The Life of a Showgirl returned to the top spot on the Official Albums Chart for a fifth consecutive non-consecutive week, marking Swift's 14th career No. 1 on the chart.
The album, released in October 2025, set a new record for opening-week total units in the U.S. with 4.002 million units. "Patient Zero," one of the four new tracks included in the Encore edition, quickly ascended to the top of the Official Singles Chart, Swift's third No. 1 of 2026. The single's success comes after its premiere at the 2026 MTV VMAs, where Swift collected the inaugural artist director prize.
The Life of a Showgirl's new tracks "Cleveland!" and "Babylon" followed closely, occupying the No. 3 and No. 4 spots respectively.
