Sri Lanka Announce Squad for Pakistan T20I Series

Sri Lanka has unveiled their 15-man lineup to face Pakistan in a three-match T20I series, with Kusal Mendis named captain. The squad will be without Pathum Nissanka and Wanindu Hasaranga, who are nursing injuries and are expected to recuperate in time for the ODI tri-series. Mendis leads an attacking batting lineup comprising Kamil Mishara, Sineth Jayawardena, Lahiru Udara, Sahan Arachchige, Kamindu Mendis and former captain Dasun Shanaka.

Chamindu Wickramasinghe bolsters the middle order. Sri Lanka will rely on Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth for spin, while Dushmantha Chameera, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara and Eshan Malinga form the pace spearhead. The T20I series commences on October 9, with the remaining matches set for October 11 and 13 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka's arrival in Pakistan is slated for October 4, marking the commencement of a tour that runs until November 21. Post the T20Is, the trio of teams will engage in a seven-match ODI series from October 18 to 31, followed by a two-match Test series in Rawalpindi and Lahore as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
