Springbok captain Siya Kolisi’s incredible journey to link up with the Stormers on tour
Kolisi has done an incredible amount of traveling with the Boks over the past three months, and he did it again to join his Stormers teammates.
Springbok captain Siya Kolisi made a remarkable journey to rejoin his Stormers teammates during their United Rugby Championship (URC) tour of the UK. Kolisi will make his first appearance for the Stormers in over five years when he plays against Edinburgh in Scotland on Friday night. Kolisi began his senior career with Western Province in 2011 and earned 118 caps for the Stormers, with one spent in France with Racing 92.
He returned to Western Province after spending four seasons in Durban and one in France. Despite being expected to return to South Africa with the Springboks, Kolisi decided to join the Stormers early, contacting the team and making arrangements to travel from Perth to Dublin to Galway. Stormers director of rugby John Dobson praised Kolisi's incredible effort and impact on the team, noting that he is a valuable presence both as a leader and on the field.
