Russian air strikes hit Southern Bridge in Kyiv again, mayor says

Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Friday that Russian air strikes struck the Southern Bridge in Kyiv once more. Earlier, on Thursday, Russian drones had targeted a school in Kyiv and the Southern Bridge over the Dnipro River, resulting in fires within the Ukrainian capital. Due to the ongoing, nearly continuous strikes from Russia throughout the day, traffic across the bridge and the Paton Bridge was halted in both directions, as authorities in Kyiv redirected transports through alternative routes.

Klitschko further informed that a fire broke out in the upper floors of an apartment building in Kyiv, alongside damages in other parts of the city and the Southern Bridge. Separately, in Russia, Ukrainian drones struck industrial facilities in Volgograd, an industrial city housing a large oil refinery. A fire ensued, and a person was injured when the drone hit an apartment building.

President Vladimir Putin reported that Ukraine's strikes on oil refineries in Russia, one of the world's leading oil producers, have resulted in a 1% loss in the country's gross domestic product. Consequently, long queues of people have formed to refill their car tanks due to the damage.
