Qatar Scientific Club concludes Young Inventors Programme’s second batch

Doha, Qatar - The Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), a subsidiary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, wrapped up the second round of its Young Inventors Programme 2026 on Wednesday, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA). Programme Director Eng. Hessa Al Najjar explained that the initiative seeks to inspire young individuals to think outside of the box and transform their creative ideas into tangible ventures through a comprehensive training process, spanning from initial idea conception to engineering design, implementation, and testing of prototypes.

The second batch comprised 30 participants, split into six teams, who underwent nine days of intensive training. The projects developed during this period were diverse, encompassing health, environmental, industrial, safety, and marine technology domains, stated Al Najjar. She elaborated that the programme provided participants with a hands-on, thorough innovation experience, guiding them from identifying problems and devising solutions through design, implementation, testing, and further enhancements.

Training encompassed areas such as creative thinking, feasibility studies, and both two and three-dimensional engineering design, culminating in the development and presentation of their projects before a panel of judges, noted Al Najjar. Eng. Mohammed Al Qassabi, a member of the judging panel, commented to QNA that the second batch showcased a cohort of Qatari youth who created impressive projects that address various sectors, including sports and health.

He emphasized that the judging criteria encompassed not just technological aspects but also the project's relevance to people's needs.

In terms of evaluation, the panel assessed projects based on technology, design, necessity, explanation, and presentation, as well as the overall quality of successful project execution. According to Al Qassabi, the QSC aspires for the participants to emerge as a new generation of young inventors who can conceive innovative ideas, transform them into prototypes, and push the boundaries by leveraging the Club's expertise and resources.

The first batch of the programme, held in the preceding round, included 35 young males and females who developed seven innovative projects, with five advancing to the prototype stage. These projects were spread across security and safety, health, environmental, water, and industrial safety sectors.
