Punjab Launches Electric Buses on 2 Routes in Gujranwala

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated electric bus services on two routes in Gujranwala, enhancing public transportation options for residents. The inaugural service will operate on the Chand Da Qila to Lohianwala and Khayali to Jandiala Nandipur routes. This new transportation method will connect various parts of Gujranwala, offering commuters an additional option for daily travel.

The Punjab government intends to expand the electric bus network as infrastructure development continues. Upon completion of construction, the city will have 74 electric buses operating on its routes. This launch is part of the provincial government’s strategy to enhance electric public transportation and provide more convenient travel alternatives for citizens.

Initially, the new buses will serve commuters along the two launched routes, with a broader coverage planned for the entire city once the remaining buses are operational. The government's plan aims to have all 74 buses in service across Gujranwala after the completion of the necessary construction work.
